Thalavady is a small village (and Panchayath) in Alappuzha district in Kerala state of India. The place is gifted by nature with lush green vegetation, sparkling waterways and fertile paddy fields apart from coconut plantations. The famous Pamba river passes through Thalavady and the most common means of transportation until recently was the waterways. Even now, it is not uncommon to see people moving in their canoes and small boats. You will occasionally find the vegetable vendor doing business from their non-mechanized boats, howling on top of their voice to announce their imminent arrival.
